After reading on PC Games on January 28, 2005 that the open beta of WoW was starting in Europe, I immediately started downloading the client. The 2 GB plus final patch took over my 720kBit/s DSL line until Monday morning.

And so, on January 31, 2005 at 2:26 a.m., my adventure in Azeroth began!
As a small forsaken warlock, ready to explore the secrets of this world…

I played very actively until the beginning of 2018, but with Battle for Azeroth, I no longer liked the direction in which the lore and gameplay were developing, so I quit. Since the announcement of Shadowlands, I don’t even follow the game details anymore.

Nevertheless, I was and still am a big fan of the “early” years of World of Warcraft , up to Wrath of the Lich King, and an enthusiastic – fanatical 🙂 – supporter of the “old” Horde. That’s why I kept logging into World of Warcraft Classic from time to time, to revel in nostalgic memories of the ‘good old days’.

For a really long time, I thought about how I could celebrate my own 20th World of Warcraft anniversary and the EU anniversary in a worthy manner. After much and long thinking, I finally came up with the perfect ingenious idea:

On February 11, 2025, the official 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft in the EU, I will publish my first short story here – in both German and English:

I do not want to reveal the exact content yet, but I think the teaser cover and title say it all …
