What do I expect from 2025? – Lots and lots of change!
It is already clear that something will change – in Germany and in the world.
A lot will change, not only politically, but also economically, financially and, above all, in the social sphere.

Then, of course, there are the technological developments that are currently taking place at a speed of innovation that I don’t think I’ve experienced since the 1980s. I’m just saying: artificial intelligence, ARM/RISC and, of course, the Windows 11 compulsion. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation will not only profoundly change the world of work, but also our everyday routines and social interactions. As much as I personally welcome progress and change, some of these developments also worry me. Not necessarily financially, but more socially.
There is a danger that the exaggerations of the Woke movement in recent years will turn the tide and everything that has been achieved in the last 70 years in terms of equality and anti-discrimination will be lost again – back to the 1950s!
A cultural regression of this kind would be just as fatal as continuing as before.

Added to this is the exaggerated law-and-order actionism. Where is the line between prevention and censorship? Where between threat and freedom of speech? Germany in particular shows a special sensitivity here. Security is important, but it must not come at the expense of our fundamental freedoms.
At the same time, more and more regulatory interventions, especially from the EU, are creating more uncertainty and bureaucratic hurdles.

I hope that much of this will perhaps settle somewhere in the middle. A healthy balance would be desirable. All sides of society that are currently polarized must work together to find ways to create workable compromises. The notorious silent majority must also become louder again – which is also one of the reasons for this post.

What do I expect from 2025?
It will be a year of decisions. Many things will happen and these developments will have a major impact on the coming years. The exact direction it will take, whether towards cyberpunk or Mad Max, will become clear over the course of the year.

But one thing is certain: from 2025 onwards, many, many things will change.
